Type Brief

For this project we got given the task of creating a poster for a fictional Rachel Whiteread poster. The brief aimed to challenge our pre-conceptions of type and to evaluate why the ‘rules’ of typography are created at all. Why do we range left, ragged right etc. To get to this final poster every element was placed in different places all around, and maybe it looks standard now, but for once every element on the page was considered rather than just sticking to stereotypes. Anyway, enjoy:

The type treatment (and faces) were drawn specially for this piece so it’s main piece is completely hand crafted. I may one day get around to turning this into a fully fledged type face, but who knows!
